Starting at 10:00am from South Congregational Church on Main Street in Centerville, a police color guard leads a parade of Scout Troops, veterans, and Revolutionary War reenactors to Memorial Park for the ceremony. A full program of remembrance and recognition will precede the time-honored practice of the laying of the wreaths on the memorial for each war from the Revolutionary to Vietnam. This event is open to the public and is free of charge.
All are welcome to participate and are encouraged to sport their red, white & blue. Decorate your bike, scooter, wagon, stroller, or (well behaved) pup and join us at Centerville Elementary School for a parade to the Rec Center. Upon arrival fun and games aplenty await. From face painting to the candy cannon, ice cream, and field games, it is a family friendly celebration for all.
